This stunning silver coin is the first in a series of three issued by the Austrian Mint to celebrate its 825th anniversary. The design pays homage to the Austrian Duke Leopold V, who founded the mint in 1194 using part of the 35,000 kilograms of silver extorted from the people of England for the release of King Richard 'Lionheart'.
The obverse shows a helmeted knight on horseback with a banner and shield over which the inscription "REPUBLIK OSTERREICH" arches. Other inscriptions are "1.50 EURO
